OUR STORY
Founded in 2010, Keeping Families Covered was built with the goal of
connecting families to basic human needs. What began as a collection of items in our founder's basement has evolved into a brick-and-mortar organization with a mission of eliminating barriers to access essentials for the most vulnerable residents in northern Illinois.
We know that parenting and caregiving is challenging, but it is even more difficult when you lack the necessities. We believe that everyone should be able to access, and afford, the basics they need to thrive and reach their full potential.
We continue to foster relationships with a vast network of community partners and provide help to thousands of families each month. With just 26 team members who commit over 3,000 hours of service each year, our organization is small but mighty.
