A Little Goes A Long Way
For the price of a daily cup of coffee, you can help under resourced families meet their most basic needs.
Donations Via PayPal
Every dollar we receive directly supports our diaper distribution program, which provides over 500,000 free diapers to families in need via our on-site diaper bank and mobile diaper pantry. To date, we have provided over 2 million diapers to local children. Although we give them away, we purchase 90% of the diapers for our program. We rely on fundraising events, diaper drives, grants and cash donations to fulfill our mission of ensuring that every child has enough diapers. Donations do more than just put diapers on a shelf in our warehouse--they make a real and lasting impact in the lives of over 1,800 Lake County children each month. "Changing" the world starts with you.
Donations Via Snail Mail
Monetary donations make it possible for us to continue providing specific sizes and quantities of diapers that we can’t always count on from diaper drives alone. We can purchase diapers for less than half of retail cost, which means that your donation is essentially doubled.

Donations Via Amazon and Target
No time to shop? Skip the store by shopping online using our "wish lists" at Amazon and Target to have your gift shipped directly to our office! Through the Amazon Smile program, a portion of your purchase will also be donated to Keeping Families Covered!
Other Ways We Help
Keeping Families Covered offers new and gently used items to families. Every item we receive is thoroughly inspected to meet our strict quality standards. We only accept and distribute items that are in GOOD CONDITION (free of holes, stains and damage) and SAFE. Items that we cannot use are recycled*.
We provide the following items, subject to availability:
Children’s Clothing and Shoes (Birth to Age 12)
*There are always people in need. If you have other items not listed above, take a look at our partner agencies that accept donations that we cannot here.
After-Hours Donation Drop Bin
We are always in need of new or gently-used childcare essentials. Donations are accepted at our Waukegan office Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM by appointment. We also provide home pick-up service on Tuesdays between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM (click on Lend A Hand and scroll down to schedule online). Due to the constraints of our business hours, we also have an after-hours donation bin located directly outside of our office.
Note: Please keep perishable goods and baby equipment for in-person donations or home pick-up.
